Mandatory Orientation Information
- All entries/volunteers must attend ONE orientation session to further discuss and obtain logistics instructions for Parade Day.
- Please choose one of the available dates, and RSVP to info@vaughansantafest.com:

Parade Assembly – Canada’s Wonderland
Floats (ONLY)
- Enter Canada’s Wonderland off of Jane St. south of Major Mackenzie Dr, at Springside Rd.
- Floats will be escorted to assigned numbered parking location
- Float construction must be completed, in position and ready for inspection by 9:00 am on Sunday
- There will be no vehicle traffic allowed in the float staging area after 9:00 am
- All non-parade vehicles must leave float station area by 9:00 am
- Please Note: Pre-parade tour of entries with Fire Inspector and committee member at 11:30 pm
Participants
- Enter Canada’s Wonderland using Springside Rd (on Jane Street, North of Rutherford) 9:00am – 12:30pm
- Must be in assigned location no later than 12:30 pm (for waiver inspection)
- Parking Available in the parking lot South of the Float Staging Area. South side of Canada’s Wonderland main entrance
- Washrooms are available at Canada’s Wonderland and Vaughan City Hall
Parade Dispersal On Major Mackenzie & Vaughan City Hall
- Parade dispersal will take place on Major Mackenzie and Vaughan City Hall
- IMPORTANT: float and vehicle drivers – please drive slowly and be very careful!!! Major Mackenzie will be very busy with participants, volunteers and children
- Each entry will be directed to a specific unloading/dispersal area based on type of entry.
- It’s important to follow Committee direction to ensure organized and safe dispersal
- Parade Entry Leaders to make arrangements for participant dispersal, pick up in designated areas and travel arrangements
- Free shuttle buses available from Vaughan City Hall to Canada’s Wonderland – please refer to the bus shuttle schedule
- For your safety, please follow and observe instructions from Police, By-Law, and Committee members
Bus Shuttle Schedule
- Free bus shuttle service will be provided from the Vaughan City Hall back to Canada’s Wonderland (at the end of the parade)
- Please be courteous when entering and exiting buses
- For your safety, please follow and observe instructions from Police, By-Law, and Committee members
- Please note: Bus capacity is 72 passengers and no standing is allowed by law
- Bus Schedule: Vaughan City Hall to Canada’s Wonderland, 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Lost Children
- The designated Lost Children Area is located at the First Aid Station at Vaughan City Hall and Canada’s Wonderland
First Aid Station
- There will be First Aid Stations located at Canada’s Wonderland (prior to parade) and at Vaughan City Hall (end of Parade)
- There are signs directing to each location
Parade Route Marshals
- Must be an adult
- Must commit to attend event
- Must arrive at Canada’s Wonderland by 12:30 pm
- Dress appropriately for the weather
- Pick up vest at Guest Information Service Booth at Canada’s Wonderland
- SantaFest Committee and Sponsors are pleased to provide refreshments at Canada’s Wonderland
Responsibilities:
- Ensure safety of participants and spectators at all times
- Prevent spectators from walking onto parade route
- Spectators must be on sidewalks, behind barriers/pylons and off roadways
- Take instructions from SantaFest Committee members positioned along the route
- Wear a Marshal’s vest
- Follow Santa’s Float to Vaughan City Hall
- Turn in vests at Vaughan City Hall
- Must also complete and sign waivers
- Be helpful, courteous and respectful
- Remember – Safety First!
Youth Volunteers
Positions Available
- Youth aged 14+ are welcome to contact us (info@vaughansantafest.com) if interested in volunteering and pre-register for the event.
- Pre-registered volunteers should check in at the Check in Booth for your assigned responsibilities at assigned times (no later than 11am).
Responsibilities
- Must commit to attend event
- Must arrive at assigned stations by assigned times
- Dress appropriately for the weather
- SantaFest Committee and Sponsors are pleased to provide refreshments at Canada’s Wonderland
- Volunteers who carry sponsorship banners must turn them in at Vaughan City Hall along with vests
- SantaFest volunteers qualify for student community service hours. Student volunteers must bring their own Community Service forms for signature on the day of the event.
- Must also complete and sign waivers
- Make sure you have made travel arrangements to and from volunteer location
- Be helpful, courteous and respectful
- Remember – Safety First!
